Friends, Today I woke up to children from another planet. I slightly kid. But maybe it’s the onset of rain (again) or something but holy moly! The attitudes are shifting! Take cover!
We’re on day 4 of school but day 6 of being home. Jon and I have started a home project. I currently have glasses with tiny splatters of primer and also have some in my hair. But, by the end of this, we will have a brand new statement piece in the middle of our home! It’s behind me in this selfie. I asked everyone on Facebook to post a selfie of themselves working from home. That was such a fun thread! We had my bestie – Erica – in her police uniform (not working from home, obviously) and I had friends from all over the country sharing!
At the start of the day, Ryan said he wanted it to be PJ day. Which is perfect since I’m sporting Christmas leggings! But, he changed his mind later although Aubrey & Luke have maintained their PJ uniform all day (it’s currently almost 3pm).
We worked on Lego vehicles, math worksheets, and again, our diaries. Having the diary during this adventure has really been incredible. Luke takes it very seriously and both of them are improving their penmanship (whether they realize it or not). After lunch, we went on a zoom chat with the neighborhood kids. There was a LOT of them and the moms all let them be completely insane because that meant it was a breather moment for us.
But quickly after that everything started declining. Headphones were broken, there were tears, an
d then there was quiet when Jon had the big kids sequestered in their room.
I’ve enjoyed some moments of Zoom chats with actual adults between last night’s book club group viewing of Little Fires Everywhere (it’s now on Hulu and we read it over summer) and then my bestie in Illinois, and a Scentsy sister in Michigan.
Technology is really pulling through during this time of quarantine.
And now, during quiet time, this little guy is skipping his nap and wandering around in my rainboots. LOL. Oh what a day!
